Every smartphone has a built-in magnetometer (magnetic sensor) that's normally used for the compass. Our app uses this same sensor to detect metal objects.
A magnetometer measures magnetic fields. When you move your phone near metal objects like nails, screws, or steel studs, these objects affect the magnetic field around them. The sensor detects these changes and displays them in real-time.
Wall studs are typically made of wood, but they're held together with metal nails or screws. When you scan along a wall, the app detects these metal fasteners, helping you locate the stud position. You can also find metal studs, pipes, electrical wires, and other hidden metal objects.
Tip: For best results, remove your phone case and move slowly along the wall. Keep the phone flat against the surface.
